A few months ago I applied for a Citi Custom Cash card for the 5% cash back on Gas. I was denied despite having 830 scores and 1% utilization and about $200k in available credit. Seemed my new job and move hadnt caught up to my Lexis Nexis so I couldnt be verified. I fixed that and applied today and BAM. Approved for a SL of $11,600. Not too shabby.
Nice SL. Congrats !
Awesome. Its a really useful card. Last month I finished my 15-month intro 0% and then a couple days later saw an offer for about 18-months 0% for a 3% fee. That's really a perk I hadn't considered with this one before.

Congrats on your Citi CC approval, @DaWhole9!
I started talking about this in the other thread where you were discussing this app and your BoA app, but wanted to reiterate here. Credit cards are approved because of your overall credit profile, not your scores. When you have less than 1% utilization and a $200k TCL, it can look to issuers that you don't use your existing revolving credit much. Clearly that didn't imapct this lending decision, but it can definitely hinder things like CLIs and can even lead to CLDs from some issuers. If less than 1% utilization is what your organic spend equates to, that's great. However, if you are micromanaging your balances (multiple monthly payments or paying before statement generation) that may be something you want to rethink since it can be detrimental in multiple ways.

Glad you received the offer and reported it. Not aware they did it.
Wow! How confident are you they check LexisNexis?

In my case all 3 bureaus had all my updated information. I had Nexis Lexis locked (from a loooong time ago) AND they didnt have my updated information. When i was denied all they told me was they couldn't verify information on my application. Well all 3 bureaus had uodayed information and Lexis Nexis was the only one not updated. It could be that maybe somehow it showed in my report as updated bit maybe they pulled an old report that was not current so my address and work were different. Who knows. It may be a coincidence. Another interesting thing. Today I got a big notice that they needed information. I called and had to have them verify me through one of my other bank accounts. So again, they were having a hard time verifying my information even though I was approved this time.

How does one find this out and fix that?

Nice SL, congratulations on your approval!

I called Lexis Nexis and they can verify your information. You can also request a copy of your report.
