Got some disappointing news today when I woke up. I had asked for my SPG app to be manually reviewed since the soft pull AMEX had on me was 60 points lower than my current FICO. Took a week and they sent me the same email they had sent me a week ago, stating my old FICO score as the reason for denial. The letter was even dated January 16th. So I called and told them my story and she said, "Oh, you want us to look at what your score is currently?" Uh. Yes. I thought that was clear the first time around. So that'll be another 3-5 days. And at this point I'm still not sure they'll let me in. Fingers crossed.
So I decided to "see what else is out there." App'ed for BofA Americard: Approved for 6k. Then went over to Citi for the Diamond Preferred: Approved for 5.4k. Then went for that new Uber card: 7-10 days. Called, they asked about one of my cards that has a high balance. I explained it was a card I used for work expenses and she said they'd reconsider and she started me at 2.5k. BofA and Citi pulled EX (727) and Barclay's pulled TU (701).
30 days ago I has 26,000 in CL's. With these approvals, an additional approval from Navy a week ago, plus CLI's from AMEX, Cap1 and my other Navy, I've more than doubled it to $58,100. And on a personal note, 18 months ago I had no FICO and a FAKO in the low 400s with plenty of baddies. I had nothing. Ironically, this board's *free* advice has been invaluable. Feels good to have my arrow pointed up. To everyone who has ever help me or anyone on here: THANK YOU.
congrats YOU ARE DOING A SUPER JOB on your credit Keep the good work up
Congrats on your approvals. Enjoy!
Citi and BofA pulled EX. 727 score. No baddies. Never late. 1 inquiry in the last six months. 4.2 years AAoA. Both instant approvals.
Uber pulled TU. 701 score. No baddies. Never late. 1 inquiry in the last six months. 1 year AAoA. Had to recon to 2.5k SL.
80k salary reported.
Congrats Mystery.
You be racking up there.. Keep it up.
Thanks guys. For what it's worth data points wise, and not sure if it's of any value or not, my EX credit score fell from 727 to 719. Both inquiries were posted instantly. Barclay's also began reporting the Uber card to all three CBs within a few hours.
