Citi Diamond Preferred CLI

Evening, all!

Doing some gardening, I requested a CLI for my Citi Diamond Preferred card. The SL has been at $3,000 since I opened it a few years ago and today, I was successful in a whole $1,000 CLI, bringing it to $4,000. This was a soft-pull increase and was auto-generated for me. I was allowed to request more, but it would have been a hard pull and I'm not that interested in it. I have a Costco Visa from them that I'd use much more. I'll probably come back in 3-6 months and try again.

Interestingly enough, in the past, it'd ask me for what I wanted as a new CL on the inital form, this time it didn't. I assume that's an indicator of possible pre-approval.

They used my March 27, 2018 Equifax FICO Bankcard Score 8 which was 678. Their FICO scores are 2-3 weeks behind the listed date. I could have in theory waited until 2-3 weeks after April 27 and had better results, but it's no bigs.

Congrats.

Any reason why you keep this card? Maybe PC it to another card. No use other than a BT card. I had it and closed it over a year and a half ago because of the 1500 SL.

Frankly, no. For a long time it was my highest limit card. Now it's absolutely in the middle. I don't know if Citi will do something like this but I had pondered having them move my CL from this card into my Costco Visa and closing the account.
