Citi Prestige Approved

For 7k....

I was really scared. Literally, my heart was pounding, I hate wasting a HP. Smiley Frustrated  After the Chase Ritz denial, I've been on edge about applying for any new credit.

I really wanted to app for another card before I went back into the garden.  Since I'm going to be doing a lot of traveling this spring and summer (graduation present to myself), I decided upon the Citi Prestige for the admirals club access, complimentary night at any hotel, and annual airline credit.  Citi has been good to me. Smiley Wink

Congrats on your success! Share your scare after taking an HP with a denial. It seems to disarm us for awhile. Did you recon the Chase Ritz?

Re: Citi Prestige Approved

@gdale6 Thanks Smiley Happy

@ArmyVietVet Thanks Smiley Happy Basically, I jumped the gun. I saw the 140k point offer and was afraid it would disappear in the new year, coupled with the fact that I wanted to get in on that airfare reinbursement like everyone else.  I had some balances on my reports, but nothing astronomical in IMO, I don't think I was using over 20% of my overall credit.

I'm on a payment plan with my grad school and I get reimbursed from my job, I put most of these balances on some credit cards and I pay them off when I get reimbursed.  I had just started paying them when I applied and I got the "needs further review".  I recon'd 4 times to no avail.  3 out of 4 had a problem that I had balances, 1 had a problem that I had received a large amount of credit from NFCU in May.  But I do appreciate all the encouragement I received to actually call in, it was informative.

@Yes, Your scores are better than mine, my TU is above 700 and my Ex and EQ are almost borderline right now, I think they pull EQ (The HP hasn't posted yet)...and that's my lowest score I think its around 686.  I don't have a lot of INQs...I think maybe 2 on EQ.
