Re: Citi Prestige

Awesome approval.. saw your post and thought I would give it a shot since I've been wanting something from Citi.

Instant denial with the 7-10 message! They hit my EX so fast and denied that I felt like it was a hit and run!

My EX scores are at 760 but I have been on somewhat of a spree over the past 2 months. 6 inquired and 3 new accounts.. so maybe I pushed it too far trying with a new bank of which I have no prior relationship.

Anybody have a similar situation and how to approach it? Thanks for everyone in the forum.. you info and assistance has been invaluable.

@Anonymous, there really isn't much to go by based on the information you provided.  Best bet is to wait until you receive the letter and decide how you can mitigate the reasons they provide.

Re: Citi Prestige

Hi Finstar.. I
I actually contacted Citi EO on one of the numbers in the form and approach with a nice lady who had a supervisor assist me as well. She had also told me to wait for letter and simply voted too many recent inquiries on EX as reason for denial.

She had stayed that she couldn't do anything until I received the letter.

Hope fully I can either call back then and have it overturned or write a letter by snail mail as some have had success with that. Any suggestions from anyone in this predicament would be greatly appreciated.. thanks so much

Definitely give it a try, just keep in mind that the EO simply forwards the request to the UW team and they'll likely repull/HP again (YEMV).  If the UW decision remains the same, then time will be your best friend until those [inquiries] impacts subside plus addressing any of the other reasons cited on the letter.
