Citi and US Bank Secured approvals

I was just approved for the US Bank ($300) and Citi Secured ($200) cards, since I was getting tired of their denials Smiley Happy.

But, I can't find a straight answer on what good behavior is in order for them to consider unsecuring the cards. Is it PIF every month BEFORE the statement hits or AFTER? Should I let a few dollars hit the statement after making a partial payment before the statement then pay the rest? Do I let a certain amount cycle to the next statement but make sure it stays current? It's probably different for both banks but any insight from anyone that has gotten one converted would be appreciated! Just looking to start off correctly on these. I have the ability to always PIF, just wondering if that is the best course of action.

Re: Citi and US Bank Secured approvals

Congrats . all you need to do start using both products for your normal daily use.. just use the cards responsibly and pay them on time .don't  run the same PIF pattern for long time. carry a balance from time to time (about 5% based on your overall profile) Scores will jump here and there due to your payment history and Accounts handling which is perfectly normal. Remember two secure accounts are more than enough to start the journey.. 15 months later you will start getting all kind of offers and both (secure cards) will eventually become unsecured..

MY Advice (once your credit become better....do not open too many accounts with toy limits otherwise those limits will become your identity for the lenders.... for the secure route i always recommend getting a secure card with least 5k credit line the later impact is huge compare to 300$ worth of secure card .. Good luck

Re: Citi and US Bank Secured approvals

Congrats on your success of both.  I also agree, grow those nicely and let them become larger/unsecured Smiley Wink.
