Well, I must admit to being suprised at my approval tonight with a Citibank store MasterCard with LLBean for $8,000.
My last approval was a Citibank Costco Card for $4,000 back in November. I rarely use Costco, but was buying something online and took a chance. But I sort of regretted it since I rarely shop at Costco and thought it the HP and all would hurt my chances with LLBean. I don't buy many clothes anymore but usually buy on LLBean. The credit card was always something I wanted since they provide free shiiping and returns. So after going to diiner tonight and consuming one too many cocktails (always resulting in life changing events when logging on to the computer when returning home), I ended up online buying a shirt from LL Bean and took the offer to apply for a credit card. This will get way more use than the previous Costco Card. And I am suprised at the this being the largest credit limit for me during my rebuild.
My BK7 was back in 2023. Citibank was not IIB. My stated income is only from Social Security ~$25k, but it seems to be fine for credit card approvals. MY main interest is is replacing my Discover/Capital One accounts since I am expecting them to all transition to Discover network.
But it was a nice suprise to have a new higher limit card approved at $8k.
Congrats ! Glad that your tipsy application resulted in an approvaLL and nice CL also ![]()
Congrats on the approval!
Congrats from a fellow cardholder.
Congrats on the approval!
Re: Costco Visa. It's value doesn't necessarily lie with Costco, it's a good catch all card. It's got great gas & EV charging rewards (even outside of Costco) and it's a great food & travel card. It's a nice 'default' choice for those of us who don't care about loyalty points, single purpose reward cards or rotating categories.

Nice rebuild! I'm sure you'd like to switch those Costco and LLBean limits tho ![]()
Congrats on the approval with a big CL! Hoping to start getting extended lines like that in my own rebuild.
What was your FICO roughly at time of application? And what cards do you currently have?
Congratulations on your Approval!!👏🏼🍾🥂

My current FICO 8 scores are EX 669 and EQ 684. My other cards are Discover, CapOne Savor and Quicksilver, Synchrony PayPal and Amazon, and Navy nRewards.

I don't have a car so the gas/charging benefit with Costco is of no use. But I do use it for travel. My only dislike with Costco will be with needing to wait for the rebate once a year.
