Color me shocked! Amex approval!!!

I was going to lay off the apps for a while since four of my six cards were acquired within the last 10 months - two of them this month. But I got to thinking that it might make more sense for the apps to be bunched instead of stretched out over time, so they'd drop off around the same time. Decided to try Amex Everyday. To my amazement, I got approved! It's only a $2K limit, but I'm in the door. That makes five out of six. The only denial was Chase Freedom.

Oh, and do you thing Amex would back date it to the Green Card I burned them on in 1982? Smiley LOL

Congratulations! I am not too sure how the back dating works, but it couldn't hurt to try.  Personally, I would refrain from asking for the backdating out of principle.  Up to you though..

Nope. It was August of last year before I found this forum and learned about recons. It's the only other card I want, so I'll try again late this year.

Congrats on getting back in with Amex! Smiley Very Happy As far as back dating....on the one hand it might be wise to simply be thankful for the card in this situation but on the other you were a previous customer and if it helps your credit it couldnt hurt to ask. What are they going to do cancel your approval? Smiley Indifferent Seriously, would they do that? If so then let it go lol

Congrats on the approval!  I'm sure the back dating will go well if you didn't take out a complete currency forest when you burned them lol  Then again it might be a painful reminder for AMEX after the approval lol  GL

FICO scores are your calling card to the business world. Build a negative reputation and those doors are hard to open, find that perfect balance of credit responsibility and those doors open when you desire them.
