Comenity Bank Strategy

So I have a J.Crew and Express Next account totalling $700 in credit. Does use of the credit through these and making payments help my chances of getting approved for a Comenity Visa through them down the road or is it likely to be strictly hard pull numbers that decide each time?

Re: Comenity Bank Strategy

Here's a good strategy.  There are three Comenity cards that only have attached major cards (no just store card offers).  The Sportsman's Guide, Total Rewards & Camping World.  Keep trying those three sites until you get a popup for pre-approval.  I think they rely mainly on your credit score and not your history of making payments with their other cards.  I have read where you have to be in the 700s to get the major credit card pre-approvals.

Not exactly true.  I got the pop up for the Sportsmans Guide Visa, got approved for $7K and my scores were in the 660 range
