Re: Coming back to myFICO after 2 years - NFCU and Chase Freedom Unlimited

Congratulations on the approvals! And a very good story! All of my auto loans have been through Navy and I have been pleased. So much so my mortgage is through them too.

@Anonymous it's my first navy card! I think I had a 769 TU score when they pulled it. Hoping that it'll just auto CLI. Fingers crossed that you get blessed with a high limit too.

@Openwater

I hear you. I was recently gifted a 90's 4runner, and it's been a headache to track down everything that's wrong with it. I can't imagine what it's gonna be like when I have to spend thousands for one.

@Rpgough0311

I'm really hoping I can have a similar relationship with them. I've had so many bad experiences with big banks, that I'm pretty confident the FCU route might just save some headaches and get things done.

Re: Coming back to myFICO after 2 years - NFCU and Chase Freedom Unlimited

They do provide me a sense of consistency. On the mortgage side, they don't sell their mortgages. My previous FDA loan was sold 3 times and had to get set up with an account each time. One time the new company forgot to send my property taxes out and that mad me livid. They sent a check overnight, but still....

I've had no issues with navy, save one on my initial application. But I'll chalk that one time up to a fluke. Cost me another HP, but save another 1/4 pt on the mortgage, so no harm no foul. Everybody gets one right?
