Hello all, Im a bit confused... here's the story.. I currently have a cashrewards visa with NFCU with 2k LOC.. I was about to open up a secured card with another 2k of my own money but after reading through many threads I figured if im going to get an inquiry anyways minus well apply for unsecured.. This past thursday I did and after a POI request I was approved for 10,000!! which is amazing.. I sent them income showing about 8k for the month which I dont believe I put back in dec of 2013 when I got my cash rewards.. which I guess changed things..
I went ahead and applied for Navcheck and opted for the full 15k like everyone here almost does and hoped to get sometype of counter but nope... I got the review messaged and just logged on and it says declined.. No counter at all...? should I call them?? I mean they didnt even ask for POI which I just faxed to the credit card department but im not sure if they communicate...
My current EQ is 617, all my baddies are from 2009 when I went thru a foreclosure on an investment property..
All I have now on my credit is my Mortage, My car loan which is with NFCU since may last year and my cash rewards card I have not paid anything late at all.. and I almost always max out my cash rwards card and pay it down to less then 10% by cycle cut... I have no rush but I just wanted to have 3 revolving accounts as iv'e heard that works best to increase scores... If i get approved for the navcheck then I dont have to use my $ for the secured card.. any input would be helpful.. thanks..
Grats on your rewards card approval, I have no knowledge of the inner workings of NFCU.
Thanks!! Im hoping the NFCU Guru's can chime in.. I know the're outhere but its the weekend maybe by Monday I'll have some Ideas on what to do next!
Shocked with $10k credit they didn't give you some navcheck.
i got declined for my navcheck right after credit card but 1.5. Month later it was approved with counter.
i would send a secure message saying with the large income you were shocked you didn't get approved with at least a counter and they will do a 2nd review and get back to you probably by Tuesday
Congrats! Thanks for sharing
congrats on the rewards card

I second this. I was denied the cash rewards a few weeks back. I sent a secure message requesting reconsideration and they approved me. Explain your situation, your relationship with them, and your future goals.

Thank you for your input... I just sent a secure message.. I'll paste it below and keep everyone updated for FYI's (Fingers crossed) I'll wait a few days to see what happens..
I am disappointed that I wasn't even considered for the Navcheck. I was just approved by the credit card division for a go rewards and a 10,000 credit line. I also have an Nrewards card with a 2,000 credit line. I recently submitted Proof of income a few days ago to the credit card department showing my income at 8,000 per month. I certainly think I should be considered for some type of counter offer. I do not know if your departments share the same information but I would be glad to fax or email in the documents again for a second look as I do not know if this determination was computer based. Furthermore I have an auto loan with NFCU for about 1 year this month which I have made no late payments whatsoever. If you have access to my credit card profile with NFCU please also see that I have spent about 11,000 dollars since opening my Nrewards card in December 2013 and every month the card has been paid in full. I believe that my current standing with NFCU and payment history should warrant me at the very least the minimum NAVCHECK limit of $500 if not more. Please take a look at my profile again and let me know if you need any documents sent to you again in order to reconsider. I am in the process of aligning all my spending to one company in order to maximize rewards and use less of my debit cards.
Thank you in advance for your consideration.
