Yes, I received increases to my SL in 3 of 4 cards. But I was denied by Credit One.
A little information about me: TQ - 717 (fico 8), EX - 683 (fico 8), & EQ - 669 (fico 8). I began rebuilding about a year and a half ago. At that time my scores were EX - 605, EQ - 595, TU - 615. I have 2 baddies that will disappear Jan. 1, 2019 on Experian. EQ still has 4 baddies, that will all fall of by Jan.1, 2019. Those aforementioned baddies were dropped by TU in July 2018 due to an early exclusion letter. One baddie will remain until Apr of 2020 (mortgage short sale). Finally, I have 6 Student Loan account with Navient. They are current, but during my 2012 separation and divorce, I was delinquent in paying back the loan.
Prior to asking for increases today, my total SL was as follows:
AMEX - $2000
Wayfair - $5250
QS - $8000
Credit One - $950
Total Credit Line: $16,200.
After asking for Increases today:
AMEX - $3000 (I only asked for a $1000 increase.)
Wayfair - $7250
QS - $8750
Credit One - $950.
Total Credit Line: $19,950.
When should I ask for another CLI increase from each of the cards? I wanted to reach $20,000 SL. But, I'm happy with what I have. I am working hard to improve my credit because my plan is to buy a home in about 4 years.
Thank you for any and all advice
I think you left money on the table with Amex by not going for the 3x CLI, but that aside.. I agree with previous posts; Drop CreditOne as you have good cards in your portfolio. Check the Discover prequalification page and if that looks like a solid option, it will grow quickly and treat you well in the future.
Do you think I would qualify for a Discover it Card with the short sale, etc?
I usually get a nice bump from wayfair every 60 days.
I agree dump creditone
Thank you everyone. I've been lurking on this site since I found it in June. Wish I knew about myfico years ago. Boy, I could've saved myself a whole lot of heartache and money. I will try to pre-qualify with Discover on the 22nd. (I tried and forgot to unfreeze Experian. They told me to try again on the 22nd -- live and learn.)
