Re: CreditOne Amex Approved for $400

I think they only hit Experian.  I know they didn't pull from Transunion, because I just checked my TU credit report.

I'm not 100% sure about Equifax because I can't get an Equifax credit report without mailing in more verification information.  I haven't found a source for a free Equifax FICO score.  I just checked CreditKarma (it provides a free EQ VantageScore), and it didn't show a hard inquiry, but it may only be updated once a month. I know my.equifax.com only updates on the 21st of the month, for me at least.

I want to point out, that to me, CreditOne is looking much better than CapitalOne, at least for the CreditOne Amex card. (I wouldn't recommend their regular card which has a $75 annual fee).  I applied earlier this year to CapitalOne for a secured credit card and I was denied, with pulls on each bureau.  Ouch.  I'm not going to try with CapOne for at least 2 years, when all their inquiries fall off.

@Anonymous

I just looked it up. For Credit One, It depends on the state you're in apparently.

From what I did see though, they use EX as a primary, but use TU as a secondary HP if needed. So my guess is they only pulled your EX because EQ isn't listed on there.

As for CAP ONE, I have their Platinum card. I love my Platinum card. There's no AF.

The only thing about CAP ONE is they HP'd all 3 reports.

I was checking Experian and it said I was pre-approved for this so I decided to go for it.  I am just ecstatic!  This is the first unsecured general credit card I have.  Details:  Credit One Bank American Express Credit Card with 1% Cashbank, 23.99% Interest Rate and $39 Annual Fee, with a $400 credit limit.

They checked Experian Fico 8, and I have a 659 score.  My Experian score was influenced by: Insufficient Number of Accounts; Number of Records; and Recent Inquiries.   I had 5 inquiries on Experian within the last 12 months prior to that with the last one on 7/30/20 (when I joined a credit union). I have 9 open accounts, with 5 open credit cards (4 secured and 1 as authorized user), 2 retail cards (Firestone and Fingerhut), and 2 secured installment loans (1 with Self).  I should also mention that I have 3 open medical collection accounts that are 4 years old and will be on my report until 2023.

Congrats on your success! That first unsecured card is always a Feel Good moment and a chance to acquire better cards now that you have your foot in the door.
