Congrats on the Apple Card approval for DH, @Kixforpa!
The banking connection is likely just a coincidence, although none of us outside of GS Bank can say for certain. I applied for the card in part because I had some very large deposits (six-figure) in an existing Marcus account. I thought the deposits would influence my approval and perhaps even help me get a massive SL. They apparently played absolutely no influence. I was approved with a good SL but not anything out-of-line with other approvals I got around the same time. And several members on My FICO with no apparent banking relationship got higher limits. Also, in the disclosures on Apple Wallet, it specifically spells out what is used to process applications. (See screen shot below.)
Regardless, he's in the door now and congratulations on the approval!
I just mention that the Marcus account probably won't help with an Apple card approval so-as to temper the expectations of others reading this thread. It's a good online money market account, but I wouldn't open it with primary goal of Apple card.

I would think most creditors use all those factors when you apply, that's not a "special" thing with GS.................................

Right, but that's the point. No mention of banking relationship. So it's just a basic card application. Also, I reconned the SL with no success. The CSR told me that they don't consider banking deposits when awarding limits. I neglected to mention that in the first post.
