So, I went ahead and applied for the Discover it Chrome for Students. Since I still have fraud alerts on my credit reports, I had to provide additional documents to prove my identity - namely, proof of address and proof of social security number, and I had to call the 800 number and verify additional information like the name of my current credit card, my employer, my blood type, DNA ancestry...
Fully expecting a denial because of the two recent inquiries last week (which, as some of you know, resulted in approvals
), I was surprised when the agent informed me that I was approved w/ a SL of $1K! Given that I am a student (4th semester grad student in an MS program in Data Analytics and Applied Social Research), and given that it is a student credit card, I was not expecting a high limit. However, it's nice to be able to get my foot back in the door w/ Discover! And the benefits are pretty sweet, too! ![]()
Sidebar: I had a Discover card 21 years ago when I was an 18-year-old freshman at Temple University; I wrecked the hell outta that card (along with the now-defunct Associates Master Card and AT&T Universal MasterCard), but I paid it off on my 20th birthday. ![]()
OK. Now that I have scratched that itch, I can go to sleep now. ![]()
And yeah, I know; I gotta reset my gardening date. But, I promise, this is it! ![]()
Congratulations to you!
Congrats on your Discover approval!!
Congratulations on your Discover approval!
Thanks, y'all! Also, I think that it may have been a SP approval, as I have no new inquiries from Discover on my credit reports. Does that happen? Can that happen?
Congratulations on your approval!
