Diners Club Roller Coaster

I stayed away from the forums for a while to try and garden and was doing well for until I decided to peak in and saw Diners Club app/approvals and all the excitement...and I fell off the wagon.  Applied on Sept. 29 and received 7-15 day message. Called a few days later and csr couldn't tell me anything.  Called back a couple days later and still nothing.  So I let a full 2 weeks go by and call again and still nothing.

I decided to call one last time last Monday only to be told that I was denied on Oct 2. The csr told me the reason I was denied was because my address on the app didn't match the address on my EX report (I was one of the lucky ones that got pulled on both TU and EX). So I pulled up my EX report with the csr still on the phone with me and told her its exactly the same as what I put on the app. She put me on hold for a couple minutes and came back and told me it was because on my app I put "apt" in front of my apartment number but on my EX report it has "#". What?! Seriously?!  I asked if she was sure if that was the only reason for my denial and apparently the underwriting department said it was.  I was told to call Experian and have it corrected and reapply. The guy at EX told me that was one of the strangest reasons he's heard, told me both variations of my address were on my report and that I should reapply using the "#".  And so I did and got the 7-15 day message. Got double pulled again, called a few days later and was told they couldn't find anything on the new app and to wait for the letter.  At this point I gave up.  Threw my hands in the air, scolded myself for apping first time as well as the second time, decided to throw myself a pity party with Baileys and coffee and a bunch of cookies and didn't think about it again until today.

After a craptastic day at work I check my mail and there it was all alone in the mailbox.  Thinking it was finally the first denial letter I tore it open to see what the REAL reason for my denial was and it was my pin!!!  I was approved!!  Still can't believe the reason for my first denial was due to "apt" vs "#".  I honestly didn't think it was such a big deal but it was for Diners.  Now I'm just going to wait for my card to find out my limit and reflect on my roller coaster ride as a reminder to just garden.  Smiley Happy

Re: Diners Club Roller Coaster

Congratulations!!!  Oh I remember my rolercoaster with the address issue as well.  Mine was with TU.  In the end, and due to their mix up and whatnot, I ended up getting both approved, Premier on 10/17 and Elite on 10/27.  Interestingly, the denial letter with the address verification issue just came not long ago.  I also got 2 HPs.

If those are your most recent scores in sig, May I ask how much you were approved for?
