After 6 months in the garden came out yesterday and today applied for Discover. Was shocked to get approved and stunned at the SL: 15k; 0% for 14 months. Yikes.
My data points util @ 3% (only balance is on a card I'm an AU on with a 0% for 15 months).
Have three cards, the third being an approval yesterday on a PenFed card.
Ch 7 BK discharged in Jan 16.
Back to the garden for a year.
Wow quite a huge approval with discover being out of BK for 1 year. Congrats and enjoy it.
Here I am at 3500 now and a 1k intial approval about 9 to 10 months ago, you blew me and most other recent approvals out of the water![]()
I wasn't expecting to be approved. I still can't believe the number.
I had to check numerous times to confirm it wasn't $1,500.00. Even if it were $1,500, that would still be more that I would have ever hoped to have been approved for.
I seriously give up trying to figure lenders out.
Yesterday I had to go hat in hand to PenFed to recon an approval, sometimes none of this makes much sense.
Huge congrats on a huge opening credit line!
Welcome to the Discover family!
15k? One year out of BK? Sweet!
Discover loves people about a year or two out of BK's for whatever reason. Guess they figure you can't file for quite some time again thus the big approvals ![]()

One year, one day out.
@CreditCuriosity You would think more lenders would understand and take that position but in the end its some bean counter somewhere in these banks that comes up with their perfect algorithm concerning approvals and SL.
After reading these boards for the past year, I've come to the conclusion that the lenders tweak these algorithms daily if not even more often.
Well snap and snickerdoodle! That is wonderful, coneyj, and big congratulations on the discharge; keep your head to the sky. ![]()
