So a few days ago I did a CLI on my Miles card. I get the usually 2 day review verbage then the CLI. But yesterday I get an email from Discover, asking me to call the credit analyst because they need to talk to me. Odd because I never have had that happen. So today I gave them a call and the analyst puts me on a breif hold to check my account. He comes back on the phone in minute, maybe less. And say "I see that you have another account with us, would you be willing to move some of that limit to this card?" I politely say that I would not because I use each card for different types of transaction and would like to keep them seperate. He then says "OK I appreciate that, what I can do is increase this card to $20,500 without a credit pull" I said sure that would be great lol. And I thanked him and ended the call.
Tidbit info : It card current balance ~$20k CL $29.7k, always PIF
Miles card current balance ~$10k CL $16.5k, new CL $20.5k always PIF
I wonder why they asked if I'm willing to move CL around but then just gave me the $4k increase anyways.
Weird.. Probably getting close to their internal limit? Although it appears the analyst possibly overrided the systems decision
I wonder if it has anything to do with crossing the $50k CL between the 2 cards I have with them.

I see you are now a little over 50k limits. Does Discover normally limit to 50k total exposure?
Personally I'm not sure but it may very well be so as I was asked to call in. Either that they just wanted to say hi ![]()
indeed
