I've been mostly lurking the last year or so, but this is Facebook Post worthy: After having the secured Discover card (denied for IT, but countered with Secured) since December 2016, today I finally received the email thanking me for being a great customer and that I should receive my deposit ($2500) back in 5 to 7 business days. Just as others with $2500 for their secured Discover card, I received no CLI when it unsecured. I almost cracked and called Discover to close my account so I could get my money back. Patience is a virtue I guess. None of the stats are current in my signature. I should probably update that. Anyway Discover has my Transunion 8 at 627. These were my stats as of today:
Fico 8 Transunion: 636
Last Late Payment: 9 Months ago (Being disupted due to the transition from Barclays to Mercury)
Collections on file: 2
Utilization: 85%
(I know it's bad, but the ED, BCE, Delta Plat (not sure if that's listed in sig) both Quicksilvers, BOA (unsecured now), and PP 2% MC have all been paid to $0 and just need to report as such)
AAOA: 4 yrs, 6 mths
AOOA: 11 yrs, 1 mth
In Discover's defense, it had a balance of $2400/2500 for the last 18 months. DW was approved for a $15K NFCU Platinum card and that balance became history as far as Discover was concerned. IMHO, I likely would have been unsecured sooner if I had a smaller balance. For those still waiting to be unsecured, it is worth it. You can do it. Cheers!
