It’s been over a year since my last credit limit increase on my Discover it card. The last one was in June 2023. I’ve tried applying a few more times since then, but I’ve always been denied because of the reason “insufficient experience with the current credit line.” I didn’t spend much on the card, so that reason wasn’t entirely wrong.
I knew I would spend more in the last quarter because I planned to shop at Target and Amazon. They also sent me a targeted offer to receive $100 after spending $1,000 on anything. The good news was that the category spend also counted toward this additional offer, so I spent $1,000 at Target and Amazon and received $150 cashback.
My statement closed yesterday, so I tried the luv button to see if I could get another increase. To my surprise, it showed a $3,000 increase, which is the largest increase I’ve ever received on this card.

congratz dude. it has been years for myself as well. I'm stuck at $27,000 and I'd love an even $30,000
They just denied me. I'm considering (not very seriously) doing a bank deposit BT of a small loan just to "use the credit limit." and asking for another CLI in 3-4 months. Its a really stupid idea.
Its something i can do to buy a truck, or anything.
