Recently posted the following thread under the applications process:
"I'm applying to BarclayCard Ring Mastercard and am going to apply for a second card immediately after. This second card has to meet most, if not all of the following requirements:
1) 13.99% or less APR
2) Accepted nearly everywhere (in the U.S., outside is a plus but not a must)
3) Must use soft-pulls for CLI or have a system that fairly and relatively frequently provides automatic CLI without a HP. (About once a year is plenty)
4) Be able to accept me (My scores: 774 EF , 777 TU , 756 EP , 0 HP, AAOA 2yrs, 6mos)
5) I don't travel much so miles will probably be wasted on me (I'm not sure I would know how to use them either)
All suggestions are highly appreciated. I'm ready to pull the trigger in the next 24 hours so thanks in advance for all your help!
P.S. I've investigated heavily into Chase Freedom and Discover It as many have recommended these in particular but they seem to have terrible customer service records. Discover tends to never give out the actual 10.99% APR and Chase likes to give HP's to everyone wanting a CLI
P.P.S. Feel free to try to convince me of the 2 aforementioned cards still but you'd best do a good job! I'm open-minded AND picky."
And I want to say thank you to the community. I ended up choosing the Chase Freedom along with my Barclaycard Ring.
Approved:
Barclaycard Ring Mastercard $5,000 CL @ 8.00%
Chase Freedom $6,000 CL @ 13.99%
Immediately called the recon for Barclaycard and got a CLI to $8,500.
Not able to do the same with Chase but that's fine (asked for a HP).
I want to especially thank user: baller4life for being critically useful in my decision making.
Thanks all!
