I looked at them last year (BBVA) and I'm sure they had geographical restrictions on who could apply. That seems to be gone now.

I thik it 's only for this card. They have geographical restriction on the other cards/

Maybe,

 This is the process whereby the slash the credit limits after initial approval.  I did ask the rep if they had authority to approve.  She said yes but the Management Team makes the final approval decision.  If it's approved and at $5,000 , I'll have to decline.  Does anyone know if I immediately close the account (assuming I get approved) if it will hit my credit report?

12njoy,   sorry I took so long to respond.   When I submitted my application,  I did not request any limit and like i mentioned the letter that came with the card attached showed a 9.5K credit limit.
