Just approved for the Fidelity Rewards Visa Signature with a starting limit of $25k. Had a targeted email offer for $150 sign up bonus, which was nice, but really got it for trying to consolidate things. FICO 8 score was 825 at Experian with one inquiry in last 12 months (CLI on USAA card), last account opened December 2021 at First Tech. Looks like they pulled TransUnion.
I was looking into getting better rates for Checking and Savings account recently. Already had a few accounts at Fidelity. Realized I could be getting ~2.6% on a checking account with their Cash Management Account and ~4.75% with their Bloom Savings account. Neither have requirements like minimum balances, certain number of swipes a month with debit/credit card, monthly direct deposit, or maximums deposits that will get a higher rate like 4% on only the first $15k, or anything else like that. I've been really happy with Fidelity as a whole, great customer service and technology, so thought it would be good to close a few less used accounts/cards and consolidate some of my finances with them.
I'll be closing SDFCU, First Tech Card, and USAlliance cards. I originally got SDFCU as 2% no FTF general spend card with Chip+PIN, but they stopped issuing Chip+PIN cards. I switched to using USAlliance card for general spend when it was 3% general spend but they reduced it to 2% and I was using it for general spend along with groceries at 6%, pretty much stopped using SDFCU card. I don't think grocery 6% will get renewed next year on USAlliance card and I will use Altitude Reserve with Mobile Wallet for 4.5% in groceries so not a huge loss. I don't really like SDFCU or USAlliance apps/website and not a fan of USAlliance redemption in $25 increments. I got First Tech Odyssey card for Chip+PIN and using it for general spend for their Checking/Savings rewards program, but one of the requirements was 20 credit card transactions and I have come to realize I really don't like those kind of restrictions as well as 4% rates were only good on first $15k/$25k. So all three of those cards were general spend at one point or another, but closing them all out for Fidelity card. I'll also be closing Ally savings account, so get to stop managing 4 different financial institutions and consolidate with one I already have.

Very very nice. Congrats on the SL!!!!!!!!!!!!
Congrats on your Fidelity $25k approval!!!

Thank you for the DPs & the info, it was very helpful!
I hadn't considered Fidelity even though I have a 401K there & I'm looking for savings accounts that have no minimums with a higher APY.
I like they reimburse ATM fees the same day & there is no limits, I'll definitely open the accounts tomorrow.
Congratulations on your new Fidelity $25k approval!
Very nice SL and approval, congratulations!
Congrats!
Congrat...Very nice approval...Very rarely to receive a targeted offer for this card...By the way, are you sure that you wanna close down your card with First Tech? They are very hard to get if you have too many accounts or too excessive total excessive credit line. They have many good features/benefits depending upon which card you got.
Congrats on the strong approval!
