Ok, this really isn't anything to write home about but I'll share it here
I've been trying for awhile to get some love from GE Capital. I have two of their cards (Walmart and JCP). I opened them in Aug/Sept of last year. The reasons that they keep giving me are -
Serious delinquency and public record or collection filed (maybe my tax liens?)
Time since derogatory public report of collections is to short (last baddy was almost 4 years ago. That's when my BK was finalized)
Proportion of loan balances to amount amounts is to high (utilization was in the 20% range when I requested before)
Length of time revolving accounts have been established (I had them for over a year the last time I requested an increase)
Well, I was checking my accounts today and saw that they doubled my limit. That sounds great but I had a $200. limit before and now it's at $400. I guess it's a start. I've been using the card a lot over the last few weeks so I could get the additional discount. So I'd use it then pay it off a few days later then use it again. Don't know if that helped or not but maybe it's a start of them loosening up a little with me. Oh, and my scores are pretty much in the same range as they were when I requested an increase a few months ago. Maybe about 10-15 points lower because of Cap1 not closing my statement when they were suppose to so I didn't get to pay off the balance before that happened.
Congrats it's a win any way you look at it!

congrats good job!
Congrats, even if it seems small, it's double your limit. Hopefully you can double it again in 4 months.
@masscredit: I just got my decline letter the other day from where I tried a 2nd CLI on my Wal-Mart card (after I got a $400 increase online) by calling Credit Solutions, and it listed the EXACT same 4 denial reasons. I think this is a standard letter they sound out for a decline if you have derogs on your report.

+1
And, as your profile improves, then those CLs can get larger.

This is interesting to know. I wonder if others have received the same reasons.
Congrats
