Congrats. What's the rest of your profile look like? Delinquencies, utilization, dti, etc.
Util is under 39% have some accounts that take forever to report. I will be under 15% very soon. No deliquncies for the last 2 1/2 years but there were quite a few then. Like 10+. Had 3 collections that are all paid, only 1 is left reporting as outstanding but that should be coming off this month. Had some other chargeoffs, around 3, that are all caught up and paid to 0. My DTI is really good now that my wife has started working, its very low now. Accounts are around 15 active, 31 all time.
Edit: Proof reading is good.
Congrats on your rebuild. Sounds like you got a lot accomplished and deserve that amex.
@Anonymous wrote:First, have been lurking on here for at least the last 6 months as I have been repairing my credit. Long story short I messed up with my credit, some of it not knowing better some not caring but one day I woke up and wanted to not worry about getting a house or car so decided to educate myself. Fast forward around 6 months later and around 100 points higher I can now say I have finally gotten an AMEX card. I have never been able to get one before. I got the Gold Skymiles Delta with a instant SL of 1k. Still waiting for it to get here to see if it goes any higher but I am more than happy with that.
For some background I started with a Discover IT secured card that is still in the process of graduating followed by an unsecured Cap 1 card with a $300 SL. Creditkarma said I have a fair chance to get this card and since I still had the pulls from Cap 1 earlier, less than a month ago, I decided to give it a shot since these pulls will all drop around the same time and I was instantly approved! I was shocked.
To end this story, I happened to read something else about NFCU and the scores needed to get a card from them. I have been a member for a long time but burned them in the past and decided to push my luck with them since I am 2 months paid in advanced on my car loan and havent missed a payment for my old closed card in over 2 and a half years. I was approved for thier cashRewards card witha SL of $15k! I couldn't believe it. Also may have app'd for a PayPal cash back card, Synchrony gives me 0% interest from thier SCRA and I have been eyeing this card for awhile. Got it too! $300SL but that's fine since I will be gardening until at least this time next year. It will have time to grow.
DPs: Scores around 630 across the board, lowest around 614 on the Fico 9 score
HP's around 15 across the board as well. I will reply with what was pulled in the morning.
Wow congrats on the SL!! I got my first AMEX card last month and they only gave me $500. I got the PayPal MC card and they also started me at $300. My scores were in the 660's when they approved me for my AMEX (EX) and 666 for my PayPal (TU). I'm a little jealous you got such a higher SL for your AMEX lol but also congrats!!
Thanks Viper, I will be sure to check that out! @Queen, the only thing I can think of is DTI or just luck of the draw? Either way I hope the best of luck to growing your card and thanks to everyone else!
Congrats! I know the feeling - got my first just this year...now 5 cards later... You have a lot of upside potential with AMEX!
Got another DP too. I have always figured that Navy Fed uses its own scoring model and I just recently got in the mail another credit explination from Navy Fed. I expected to see 1 of the 3 credit agencies on it but instead it showed my Navy Fed credit score, I can't seem to find the paper at the moment but I believe the score ranges from 250-500 or somewhere around there. Also I applied for an auto loan and credit card off the same report so I do not know if it was for both or only auto or only credit cards.
Anyone else have any info on this?
