It has been an adventure since joining NFCU back in 2018. I opened with a $500 Platinum (at the time, had around a 580 score, made some poor decisions as a 19 year old) and soon after took out an nRewards secured for $200.
The rebuild was tough, I settled a number of accounts and a had a couple of hiccups along the way. I sat in the subprime category for the better part of 4 years, which was understandable.
In 2022, my nRewards finally graduated - after 4 years of patience - to a cashRewards from $200 -> $2,000. I was able to increase the limit on my Platinum as well from $500 to $1,500 so had a couple of small, patiently awaited wins there.
2 years later, after multiple tries I was able to bring the limit up on my cashRewards to $3,500 (not even a 2x) and my Platinum 2x'ed to $3,000. This was September 1 of last year.
Fast forward to today! Currently, my Fico 8 scores hover right at 700, and I've started seeing pre-selected mailers come in which is a first for me. I hit 181 days since my last CLI with NFCU as of yesterday, so logged in figured I'd tap the love button, not expecting much...
Woke up this morning, and my Platinum 3x'ed to $9,000 & cashRewards 2.7x'ed to $9,500.
These are my two highest limit cards to date. Might not mean much to many of the regular posters, but super happy to see the other side
what has been a long rebuild.
Congrats on your patience paying off with Navy Federal. So glad to hear about your success after getting your score up, terrific job.

Congratulations on your NFCU CLIs!
Congrats. That's fantastic.
Congrats
Congrats!
I also had a slow rebuild with Navy. More denials than approvals. Finally, after almost 2 years, I got the 3x CLI last month. Feels great, doesn't it?
