Hello all,
This week I decided to go on my fisrt app spree since I applied for the CapOne Secure MC initial CL of $200.00 was Auto CL to $500.00 this week,
After reading all the threads filed with incredible advise and researching many Credit Cards, I decided to apply for the 3 cards.
-CapOne QS1 MC- since I already had a relationship with CapOne I thought I should apply with them but didnt want to go to far and apply for the regular QS card afraid I would be denied.
-Chase Freedom- I've seen a recent hike in approvals for the Freedom card so decided to jump in and apply.
-Discover IT- same reason as the chase card and loved the idea of a free FICO score.
SO here is how it all went down.
Discover pulled Equifax.
Cap One pulled Experian, Equifax, Transunion.
Chase pulled Experian, Equifax.
In the end here are the cards I was approved for.
Chase Freedom Visa, CL $2200.00 (Auto Approved)
Cap One QuicksilverOne MC - CL $1000.00 (7-10 days review, called in yesterday was told approved but were not able to provide CL until I called in this morning)
Discover IT -Denied due to Paid Collection/Short Credit History ( they did Offer the Discover IT secure )
Shocked I at the CL for the Chase card, I was surprised CapOne had to review the application, but then again I do have a secure card with them. Discover denied me but they did offer the secure card, I decided to decline the offer even though it would still give me the benefits of the regular card, i just didnt want to be stuck with the same limit for 12 months until they upgrade to regular status, although I think i didnt think it though as its a much better deal than the CapOne Secure I have. I might just go and do it, I had them sent the offer to my email.
I had another thead with more details on what my qualifiations were when I applied on the credit cards forum side if anyone is interested.
Which cards should I try to apply for?
Excellent run!
I'd go ahead and do the DiscoverIT. It's a nice one to have & gets you in with them. Also, you can decide your limit with your deposit. A year is not that long to wait. Nice to have the extra bonus categories, and they give the free credit score every statement.
I have read the secured Discover doesn't unsecure. YMMV
Grats on your new cards OP ![]()
Congrats x2!
congrats
