Congrats on the great increase. So they do a hard pull then. Yeah, never felt it was worth pursuing if it is a hard pull. Especially since this card is now our worst cashback card. On the other hand, TransUnion has always been my strongest score. Same for my wife. Probably why we got a $2500 auto increase just a week ago.
Yes, it's a HP when you ask for these CLI. However a few years ago they changed the approach. It used to be you had to guess what Magic 8-ball answer would be appropriate for the initial CL and any CLI. If you guessed too high, no approval. Now BECU responds with their answer to what they will grant you.
When I first applied, I had to guess and went with $15k. Workable answer, I got the card. After they changed the method I asked for the HP CLI, and got $40k, the max possible as I understand. I have the low APR, no rewards card version.
