I joined NFCU last year, after years of thinking I was ineligible for membership, but turned out to be double eligible between my father's army service and my grandfather's navy service.
I got approved for a CashRewards+ card with a $7,100 starting limit (ignore the typo that I can't edit in my old post) and tried the 91 day CLI after putting almost $6K in charges on it and PIF. No joy. I kept trying every 20-30 days, putting charges on it here and there, but still wasn't getting anywhere.
Last month I ran the card up to $5,500, paid it down to $3,500 before the statement cut, and waited. Today I bit the bullet, expecting another denial, but instead was rewarded with an increase to $13,100! It's not the $8K max increase, but I will definitely take it! Finally on that Navy Gravy Train™

Congrats!
Congrats on the CLI! You're starting limit was the same as mine.

I'd count that as a win. I don't recall seeing too many DPs on what Navy actually wants for increases. Maybe it was just some additional time, and not necessarily more spend.

Congrats it sounds like when Navy approved u for the card they gave u the Max for your profile and as someone else said i dont think it was the spend that got u the increase. It was your account got some age on it i put no where near that spend on my card and my last two NFCU CLIs have been the 8K max. With that increase amount i believe they are warming up to u your next one will probaly be the 8K max. And next request if it isnt instant dont fret i allways request at 6AM and by 7PM it shows on the account will be looking for your next post about your 8K max increase.![]()
