First Significant CLI w/ Lowes!!! Bonton is still going strong too

Have tried high and low to get our Lowe's card increased. They always say NO. And they always say theres no way to speak to underwriting about it.

Well, not today. Limit was at $6500. Requested a CLI of 20k fully anticipating they'd counter.  Instant denial. I asked to speak to underwriting, and was transferred. This one took about 7 minutes from start to finish. Very professional. I explained how much we love synch in this house for care credit and that we love lowes.

New credit limit $12k!

And also got our Bon-ton/boston/carsons/elder up from $11k to 20k just for fun.  Yeah, obviously I was bored huh!

Very nice! Congratulations! I'm pretty new to this site but have found it immensely helpful. I've been trying for a Lowe's cli for the past month to no avail. I've had the card for a couple of years, always paid on time, but have only used it right at the beginning and just randomly here and there. My credit is in the mid 600's from all 3 credit agencies. Many have said that I should use the card and pay it off as they like to see activity, not just timely payments.

I'm wondering if the "underwriter" is different from the back door number? I've called that back door number a few times to only get denied. Should I be asking for an underwriter specifically or is the same thing as the back door people?

They do have an underwriter dept bc that's how I got my SL $500 up to $5K a week after approval.
