Hey, guys. I just signed up with myfico but I've been lurking in the forum for well over a year now. I had been gardening for awhile now when I decided the other day to check and see if I was preapproved for any credit cards. I ended up being preapproved for the Discover IT for students card. At first I doubted whether being preapproved really meant preapproved and so I came back here and looked up what others on this site had to say about Discover preapprovals (I don't make a credit move without first checking this website, lol). The general consensis was that it was pretty much 50-50 whether I would be approved or not. With that in mind, I decided to go for it even though I was denied for the same card last summer. I guess you can say my app finger was really itchy, lol. So I submitted my application and in moments I got a "Congratulations, you're approved" message. I literally started crying I was so happy. Every other credit card before this, even store cards, have denied me any type of unsecured credit. It is so nice to finally have some sort of confirmation that I'm doing the right things to build my credit. So, I just wanted to take the time to thank the posters in myfico for giving me such good advice. Hopefully, there'll be future approval posts from me as my credit continues to improve
