Last night, I was approved for NFCU's Flagship. It's been a long journey since my Chapter 7 in 2018. I'm happy to know that I'm being approved for some decent cards now.
I got approved for $17,700 at 18% APR. I'm a little disappointed at receiving the highest APR. I also have NFCU's Cash Rewards. I was approved for that one 2 years ago at $25,000 and their lowest APR. I've always had a perfect payment history with NFCU (and everyone else since the bankruptcy).
Questions:
Is there any chance to call NFCU and recon for a lower APR? Or do I need to have the card for a year first?
My credit limit on Cash Rewards is nearing 50k now. Can I ask NFCU to move part of that limit over to the Flagship?
Congratulations on your Flagship Card Approval! Your APR will be reduced via their timeline.
Congratulations on your approval! If memory serves me correctly you can ask for an APR reduction after your 1 year anniversary with the card by calling in or sending a secure message. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong. If you want to ask a group of Navy Federal Card holders you can post your question in the Navy Federal Thread here on MyFico Forums. I'm sure someone in there knows the answers to your questions: https://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Credit-Card-Applications/Navy-Federal-Datapoints-Thread-for-Members...

Accurate. I done just that on another NFCU card. 1 Year anniversary and made the request.
The great thing about Navy is that they drop the APR by a reasonable amount too!

Congratulations on your NFCU Flagship approval, @Mgilbert8605! ![]()
Sweet deal! And yes, the APR can come down with Navy more easily than with some other lenders.

Very nice SL and approval, congratulations!
Nice approvals after BK. Congrats!
Congratulations on your approval for the Flagship credit card. You can call in exactly one year and request a manual review to see if the APR can be lowered. It's normally as SP. The worst they can say is no.

Congrats on your approval!
