So, I wanted to update you all on my previous post about applying for the Chase Slate or Freedom Unlimited card. Didn't know what to expect when I went to my bank today. Almost went for the Slate but the rep suggested the FU. Told her about my EX score being so different from my EC and TU score and wasn't sure if I will get accepted. But she told me that since I had no inquiries for the last 2+ years, no other card on file other than being a AU on my wife's Freedom card and had virtually no debt in my report, that she was confident that I would get approved.
To sum it up, I got approved for the FU with a CL of $3500 (which I was very surprised). Could have gotten approved for the CSP but I'm going to wait awhile for that. Even more surprised that it took less than 5 minutes to get automatically approved. And now, I can finally exhale and take care of my credit the right way.
Congrats on your approval!!! Sounds like you're doing great and your goals in 2017 are attainable!!! Again, congrats!

Congrats, any clue as to what bonus you received? The 150 or the 300? It would be on your paperwork
It's the $150 bonus. I don't know if I'll spend $500 in three months or not since that wasn't my intention on getting the card, but we'll see since I do get an extra paycheck in March. Not sure which bureau they pulled but I'll probably know once the card comes in the mail soon unless there's an easier way to find out. My guess is that they pulled TU since I've read that's what Chase uses in Indiana, but they may have did EX.
Congratulations! Very nice SL on a Freedom card! Your credit profile is going to soar in the next few months! Enjoy! ![]()
Congrats and get the bonus!! Pay insurance early or pay bills for friends and get the cash from them. Don't leave $$ on the table, you earned it!!
Congrats on your approval!! Chase is the place to be!

Well, I'm sure I can do that if I spend about $170 each month but it's just a matter of self-control afterwards. I was just going to use the card mainly for gas and groceries depending on what parts of the month that I get paid. I'm sure I'll find a way to $500
