After being turned down for increases since last June ($3k increase), they finally decided to let me get in on the action. Their rejection reasoning has always been low credit line use in previous months (Spotify auto charge unless it's a 5% category). Maxed out the 5% category in May with some auto repairs, and now have been using it as my daily driver restaurant card. Regardless, $500 is $500! Maybe they would've done a bigger increase if I had waited a month or so, but I'll take it
I feel yeah when it's like pulling teeth with Discover. I am trying to get my first discover card over $5,000 CL. Obviously, it would be nice to combine the two cards bc I would be over 5k. :/ Of course I have not gotten anything from discover for maybe a year at least with the reason "not ready". But I have heard of some rumor that Discover will deny if you have any unsecured loans too -.-
Congratz on ur CLI
Congrats getting that CLI.
I always received that same denial reason. Back in June I put quite a bit more than normal on the card and they gave me $500. I'll take whatever they offer lol.
Cheers!
Congrats on the Disco increase 👍🏼
Congrats on your increase. I don't know if a huge spend will trigger an increase. My last two $500 increases have been with minimal spend (Less than $200). I have had months with large spend result in increases AND denials. It's really random.
