Haven't been logged into the forums for a few days because I forgot my password but I applied for 3 cards and got accepeted for two of them!
I applied for a Chase Freedom and got accepted at a $1500 SL which is 3x my previous highest limit of my quicksilver1 with $500.
I applied for a Citi Double Cash next and was declined for short credit history. (My oldest line of credit is my car loan which has 14 monthly payments put through it. And my first card is 7 months old. Any idea on how long of a history is enough for Citi?)
I applied 2 days ago for an Amex Blue Cash Everyday and was accepted at a $500 SL. I'm thinking I should have let the chase freedom get shown on my credit report first so maybe they would have matched the CL of the freedom but I'm not sure?
Anyways, its awesome to get my foot in the door with Chase and Amex. Too bad with Citi though because I wanted a better replacement for my quicksilver1 but its not a big deal.
Data points:
AAoA = ~9 months
Util = 5%
Reported income: $17k
Scores: TU 729 - EQ 719 - Ex 718
No bad remarks, late payments, etc. Have about 5 inquiries on each report, everything else is perfect.

Way to goCiti seems to like a little bit of history maybe try again in 6-12 months. But very nice on scoring a Chase and Amex. Have you thought about Discover?
I've been thinking about discover since I hear they're generous with CLI but I didnt see a card from them that I could really justify right now. I'm thinking I'll probably let these sit(if I can handle not applying for more. I'm addicted.) for the next ~6+ months then see what else I should get.

I applaud you knowing or at least analyzing what works for you and what doesnt. This leads to smarter choices and using your hps more wisely. I just recently got my first Discover and the nice thing about it is the first year your cash back is doubled so essentialy a 2% card for the first year. At least with Discover the clis are normally sp and it can grow fast . But, lol, usual disclaimer, they can be a strange bunch on who they let in or when. Dart boards anonymous i sayBest of luck on your continuing credit journey
Oh I didn't know about it being doubled, thats pretty cool. I'll definitely look into Discover in a few months. Thanks for the info
Congrats on approvals with AmEx and Chase. Too bad about Citi! But like was said, try again in a few months. Also, Discover is a great card, with great perks and Discover Deals. And that double cashback for the first year is pretty sweet. Already racked up more than $100 in rewards in three months. So, at least $100 will be coming to me in October of this year.

AJC, I responded to you about your Discover issue on ItsPossible's post "My First Discover CLI = $1500", but I don't think you saw it. Check it out - my thoughts.
Congrats to you, Gavin, on two very awesome approvals! Enjoy them both! ![]()
