Last month, I received an unexpected denial from Chase for their IHG (hotel) card. I responded by moving my main checking/savings accts out of chase, and set up HSBC premier banking (scoring a $450 new acct promo). At the end of the process, their website asked if I wanted to apply for their Premier World card while I was at it. And what do you know...
HSBC Premier World Mastercard
$7,500 limit
$0 annual fee (waived for banking relationship)
14.99% APR (pretty good for a rewards card)
35k bonus points ($525 toward airfare, $350 toward other travel, or 35k miles with one of their freq flyer transfer partners)
It's not the most lucrative travel card out there - I would recommend against even considering it unless you have an HSBC Premier account (eliminating the annual fee). But with the annual fee waived, it's probably one of the better no-fee travel cards (esp now that Wells killed the Propel). Nice rebound, heading into a few months of gardening.
Data points: EQ pull, FICO8=737, DTI=24%, Util=26%, 0 derogs, 8 INQs (bleh. time to let that drift back down)
