Hah weird, approved for Discover IT

I shouldnt of been applying but I figured since I cant keep in the garden anyway I may as well try for all the other cards I was wanting.

AMEX denied like always.

Got the Chase Freedom approved 500 limit 4 days ago, already posted that Smiley Very Happy  Applied for the slate the next morning, pending decision.

The card I am writing about today is the DiscoverIT card!  I applied for the DiscoverIT, processing window was loading, popped up chat with online specialist or continue application, I continued application, I put in my work information and how long ive lived at my address hit submit again.  Waiting for processing, a new window popped up, we are unable to approve you for your initial application of the DiscoverIT card but we have the following offer for the DiscoverIT card yada yada.  (I am guessing the terms were different? I never read the APR in the first window I always figure its max amount) I clicked to accept their new terms and

KIRK, Congratulations, you've been approved!

Your card, credit line and other important information should arrive in 5-7 days. When you get it, be sure to call and activate your card. Then, you'll be ready to start enjoying cash rewards on every purchase.

Thanks for choosing us!

Very excited, the only card I do not have now that I wanted when I started rebuilding is an AMEX.  Considering they are the last company to not approve me and I have all the cash back cards I would ever need (4 or 5 now) I wont be getting an AMEX!  So looks like I am done with credit cards finally Smiley Happy  Now its all working on my score for a house in 2 years and periodic CLIs.

8.5k in judgements to be paid, 1 paid judgement, 2 medical collections totalling 700 dollars, regardless of which report they pulled, the lowest amount of inquiries I have is 19(otheres are 23 and 25).  10 accounts opened within the last year.  35% utilization overall.  (half the cards report 0 balance, the other few are at 70%)

Hope it gives hope to those who have not so great credit but want better cards!  Never thought I would get these cards already!

*edit*
Credit limit 1300, my highest yet Smiley Happy

Re: Hah weird, approved for Discover IT

Thanks!  Credit limit is 1300, my highest limit of all the cards I have now. Smiley Happy  I had to call and find out Smiley Tongue

I really like their customer service, US based (Salt lake city) , clear phone line, very loud, super friendly and more than happy to help.  I think she congratulated me on the card 5 times and in joining with discover.

Re: Hah weird, approved for Discover IT

Haha! That's how they were with me as well. Every time I call Discover to get help or have a question answered, it's always a blast. The reps are very positive about issues.

And I have heard the "I also see your account is new, so welcome to Discover and congrats!" lol.

Re: Hah weird, approved for Discover IT

Just a quick question as you mentioned they counter-offered a product to you; It was not the secured card that you got approved for, right?

Agree the customer service is top notch. Congrats! Smiley Very Happy Sometimes they dont offer a 0% intro APR when terms are changed you might want to check on that if it matters.
