Doing this more-so as a data point mark.
P1 and P2 applied for a Hilton Honors card. Both approved, 30k each line. 130k Hilton line points, equivalent of about $1700 in free Hilton rooms between both combined. The offer was spend $3000 over six months. Annual fee $150, will likely downgrade to free after one year fees, and keep the line active with no fees.
Hard Inquiries were capped with 5/24 or so, four inquiries should fall off within six months.
American Express preapproval tools ensured both P1 and P2 would be accepted. So we keep the game rolling on.
Congrats! I love Hilton and AmEx. Buuut....130k HH points is definitely NOT worth $1,700. More like $500-$600. Still, you got a great SUB.

130k x2.
$250-$300 per night rooms where and when we stay. 45k points per night at certain locations, and I leave the elevated point counts alone. By the time the promotions are paid through, should add at least another 10k or so points for a 270k combined total.
Time the stays right, and rooms are discounted down to 39k each, but that requires the flexibility to be available during those times.
Some people go by point sites that assign point values to cards. I use real live data in how much it will cost me out of my own pocket, to stay where I intend to stay, during the timeframe I intend to stay.
Just got back from a trip where we used a nice set of points on one certain card line, but wanted to stay one more night out somewhere closer to home. This was a Hilton, $300 per night. Stayed there a few times before, similar rate as before. Decided instead, to use a different line and stay somewhere else for a free room, and once we got home, signed up for two Hilton Honors rewards instead. The next six-seven stays should be free now. Despite not needing them soon, they'll remain in the back pocket.
Congrats on the approvals!
WOOHOO!! Congratulations on both your Approvals!!👏🏼🍾🥂
Thank you everyone.
I just learned from an in-law today, they've decided to take up welcome bonus, free room options today, asked how we can help them. I enjoy this stuff, so I'm going to have fun teaching them how to acquire all of their free vacations.
I hope to include their successes into future stories.
