I couldnt wait any longer so I pulled the trigger.........

After applying for a nfl barclay card back in October, 2013.  Six months later I couldnt ait to apply for another card.  I decided to open a account with NFCU. and pulled the trigger on the cash rewards credit card!    Lol I had butterflies while it was processing for 30 secs. and I was approved for $7500. I am so happy I been working on my credit repair for awhile. I'm staring to see the rewards of financial and credit responsibilty starting to pay off.  This will drop my utilization very very low. and hopefully I should get a nice score bump. I was at 81% utlization for my few little cards I was managing. Thanks NFCU.  Cash back cards are my new target. Now lets see who will compete with NFCU limits ha ha.  But Im gonna wait  awhile to apply for another. lol. or shouldnt I ?

Grats on your new card and if you are at 81% util I would not be apping for any more until that new one reports and you have cleared the balances on a few of those cards.

Thanks and getting utlization down  will be my next goal. I have only been making minimum payments just to build a payment history.  But now  I'm just thinkng of PIF to get it down the next couple monhts.  Hopefully the NFCU limit will help reduce it also.

Ayeyah.. A payment history can be built without carrying a balance/high util and subsequent interest charges. It is much better to PIF or make at least 2x the minimums. Paying just the minimums is kind of a taboo especially when you are trying to build a history... Good luck Smiley Happy
