While I do need to update that, I was getting the itchy finger for a travel card with points. And if you're going to go big, then it's either AmEx or Chase right now. I have AmEx Plat pre-approved for a while. Couldn't get any "Just For You" offers to trigger (story of my life and a lot of people here).
Disco and AmEx denied my CLI request this morning. Turns out it's their loss.
Went to the new local branch. Sat with a banker and chated. No pre-approvals for any cards. I listen to his pitch on Sapphire Preferred & Sapphire Reserved. Knowing I would have to act like a baller and roll $4K through the next few months, I went with the Preferred.
Stats - SL $6,200 (fine with me)
FICO - hovering above 700s
Interest Rate - laughable becasue I'm planning on PIF
Thank you Disco & AmEx for hating. I'll be showing Chase some love for the next 3 months.

FYI, one doesn't need a preapproval to approved for a Plat. I'm not sure Disco or Amex are hating, they are usually good at giving cli if one spends alot with their cards. An occasional charge normally won't do it
Luv for the sake of a SUB isn't really luv more like trading favors
