After a few months of research on these forums and so much helpful advice, I took the plunge and applied for 3 cards tonight. My goal was to have 1 card from each of the major brands as I head out into the "real world" in a couple weeks and I succeded! I expanded my total credit from cards from $1750 to $12,250!
Just applied and was approved for:
Sallie Mae Rewards Platinum: $1600
Cap One Quicksilver Visa: $3000
Amex Everyday: $5900
In addition to my 2 previous cards:
Discover It Student: $500
LOFT Store Card: $1250
What a nice (and unexpected!) graduation present for myself.
I really wanted to post to say that I haven't ever directly asked for advice here, but I can't even count how many threads I've read that have given me advice that was key in knowing when and what to apply for. So thank you everyone. Now I'm off to the garden for a long time. ![]()
