So earlier this month I begain apping to increase my available credit. Had a Cap1 Plat $750 SL. CreditOne $450 SL. Fingerhut $700.
Got a $3,000 QS1. Recently got the credit steps email. Sucks. 1/2/2019
Got a $2,000 Visa from my local credit union. 1/15/2019
Got $15,000 Visa Plat from NFCU. 1/15/2019
Got 15,000 CLOC from NFCU. 1/30/2019.
Credit Lines up from $1900 to $37,000.
I think this was a good month. Time to chill for a few months, then apply for a mortgage.
Scores were in the low 500's back in September. Currently 630-650.
You all made this possible. Thank you!
Nicely done, d. Congratulations!

Congrats! That's quite a bump in aggregate CL.
FYI (and I could be wrong) I think the recommended amount of time with no new INQ prior to applying for a mortgage is a year. More informed members than I can confirm. Best of luck with your credit journey.
Congrats on the MASSIVE increase in Credit Lines!!!
Wow! Great month of January for you! Congrats on your new cards!
Very nice! I assume this wasn't all due to a BK?

No, went and lived on a island for a few years. In 2009, I closed all my credit cards. Sold the house. Let the student loans default.
Student loans were the only negative on my credit reports when I got back. Basically, I had nothing to combat the damage they were doing. Got them consolidated and starting to repay them. Luckily, my old closed accounts are still showing on my credit report so my AAOA isnt too bad.
Sometimes I think I shoulda just stayed in the Philippines. LOL. My wife and daughter are the only things keeping me in the rat race.
Congratulations on your approvals and good luck as you embark on your journey towards a mortgage!
