JetBlue Plus Approval

I definitely don't app frequently at this point, but I've had the JetBlue Plus in mind for a while since my family flies JetBlue every year to FL and the bag fee savings from that trip alone would more than pay the AF.

Pulled the trigger today using a mailed pre-approval, and I was approved for a $12k SL and the mid-tier APR. The high SL surprised me a bit given Barclays' reputation, and the fact that they pulled TU (which is my worst report, just because I had like 8 inquiries in two years).

Data Points:

TU Score: 751 (Discover), 757 (Chase)

Oldest Account: 4y 11m

AAoA: 2y 9m

Newest Account: 6m

Number of Accounts: 10 CC (9 open) + 2 auto (1 open)

Derogatory Marks: 0

Re: JetBlue Plus Approval

Make sure you do not demonstrate high UTIL on your other accounts, or Barclay's will take AA on you. They do not play. Smiley Wink

Congrats on the approval! Smiley Happy

Re: JetBlue Plus Approval

My overall util is around 2% as it stands right now, and it rarely breaks 5% (especially now that I got a few increases and another $12k card). I'll sometimes have a card or two above 30% (usually my Freedom or my Discover due to their relatively low limits, sometimes my FU when I make a large purchase), though I've never done anything but PIF. Do you think I have anything to worry about in terms of AA?

Not if you PIF. If you let that UTIL report and then PIF, you may have to worry. But I would PIF before the statement cuts. Smiley Wink

Barclay's may or may not take AA — YMMV — but, based on what I have read here, they do not like high UTIL on other CC accounts. It freaks them out.

If your overall UTIL is lower than 30%, you should be fine. The lower, the better with Barclay's. Smiley Wink
