The year is coming to a close and St. Nicholas is scheduled his yearly trot across every good boy and girls roof top. This year Zerofire sits behind his bright business screen hoping for one more chance at a card that would make his eye glean. Having for years tried and failed to get a Citi Custom Cash he recently lost his first inquiry attempt straight to ash. Thinking what the heck there is time for one attempt more he put an application in to the Citi decision floor. After getting the great loading spin he was told he was going to have to call in. On the call he was asked a few basic questions and was dissed by national detestation. Citi in their mighty pride needed a Green Card to back his Ukrainian hide. Naturally he sent multiple high quality copies until eventually one got in. Finally after much thought on December 31st Citi stated "Your Approved" in a lucky lot. So finally Citi will finally deliver in the mail a Custom Cash with a $7,600 SL.
This application had an Experian inquiry and a FiCO 8 of 809.
Great card, have had mine a few years now, grats on the approval and have a fantastic 2025!

@youngandcreditwrthyUsually the FiCO 8 is the lowest but most stable. FiCO 9 usually adds a few points because somethings are no longer allowed in the score. If you use the FiCO 8 for planning it is a reliable predictor of most lending ideas.
@gdale6& @JoeRockhead I have been fighting with Citi for the past 3-4 years just to get my initial card. In 2024 I really pulled off the gloves with 3 applications for it. During that time I have even been able to fully expand my US Bank relationship and we know how uptight they are. I have no idea what Citi was thinking but I am most pleased that I am able to finally relax and just wait for the inquiries to fall off. That and for new cards to be made.
