Congrats on the approval and quick rebuild! Couple questions for you. What was your your utilization at the time of the flagship app? What was your overall dti? What’s your income? Any lates or collections? I’m asking because I’m applying for my 3rd NFCU card next week and I want the flagship so I’m hoping our profiles are similar lol.my overall utilization was 12%, I only owe 14300 on my car loan. my income is around 56000 a year.
so my cash reward card utilization was 7%, my discover it card utilization was at 32%, my jewelry club was at 0%. I have no collections on my profile. I got 2 charges off from 5 years ago and 2 default students loan i have about 4 babies on my profile. but since I start to rebuild all of my open accounts are in good standing. I think you gotta pretty good chance to get approved for a third card since you already have a relationship with NFCU.
@gjean78 , I love your rebuild story. To achieve this credit lines at this stage seems pretty amazing. You mentioned some defaulted student loans and 2 charges offs on profile when you got the flagship and cash rewards cards. I have two questions.
1) Did those charge offs have a balance or did you pay them down to $0 before you app'ed?
2) Were your student loans current at the time of your flagship and cash rewards application or were they still past due/ in default?

i didn't pay them down to zero, they both have a balance, 1 has a balance 1500 and the other one 1100. both of my students loan were default when I applied for both card. matter fact I still have these babies in my profile. they will be dropped off from my report within a year.

@gjean78 Ok wow, NFCU has treated you really well. Your profile at the time you app'ed for the flagship seems similar to mine. I joined NFCU hoping to get shown the same love as you in next few months. My cash rewards card should be arriving next week with $500 unsecured limit.
I'm going to use this card to get in good with the credit union and then in the next 3-6 months go for another card from them with a larger balance. I have a couple of derogs on file and student loans in default. The random collection / charge off's I will let age off most likely. The statute of limitations hits next spring on those and then a year later should be gone from reports, not worth me throwing money at it since I'm not trying to get a new car or home by then. I'll get my student loans out of default in 2020 but you give me even more hope that I can work with NFCU to get a respectable card before all of that stuff happens.
