But I must say I am perplexed by the mysteries of Synch.

First they slash limits like mad.
Then they give limits like mad ... on a card not being used?
Go figure.
Anyway, enjoy that while it lasts!
If you want to keep it, a little spend might go a long way, perhaps?
Who knows the secret formula!
Thank you for the post @Aim_High
I have read many of your posts, and
firmly believe that not many people enjoy
the extent of credit knowledge you have.
We are in a time of great change in our world.
People who ask questions first will get answers first.
I lost 60K in credit from an economic depression.
Synchrony is responding to the same questions we all are.
What should I do? Who do I trust my money with??
I am just making sure they know that I am
the same reliable person I allways was.
What I spend doesn't
matter a fig to them atm.
It is all about who can you safely go forward with.
Again thanks for the comment,I enjoy reading your insights :-)
Cheers
Congrats

I know this subject is a tad touchy,
and all views need respect. That being said
I asked Sync to give me 35K on my Lowes Card.
I opened this card in May with a 5K limit.
On August 18th I got them to 17K.
This morning I said gimme 35K
They said sure
So thats 5K to 35K in under 5 months.
Synchrony took 60K in credit away from
me 6 months ago. I had gotten 29K back so far.
This now puts me at 47K out of 60K back.
I am relaying these data points so anyone
can find them if they need em in the future.
Was a sp so no need to hit all the dp's
Again, totaly understand not being down with
Synchrony. Just trying to give a light to people
who may one day be in the dark.
Hope this finds everyone well :-)
Cheers
EDIT*** I have not used this card yet.
I thought that was important to convey.
Take from it what you will :-)
Uh oh! You did it again
Nice job @UH_HUH , im sending good vibes , is it in Sync? Dont know but it isnt time to say BYE BYE BYE yet😜
Congratulations!!
I got my CL slashed for not using my Chevron Cc. Problem is where I live there is no Chevron/Texaco so I could not use the Cc. Low and behold from $10,000 I got slashed to $1024 I was pissed. I finally did a research and found out an auto mechanic shop where I live accepts the card. Made charges to the card with double payments every month ...Finally yesterday I noticed I got my $10,000 limit given back to me!! Lesson learned, use it or lose it...
Beat them at their own game. Totally hilarious!!
It also helps when you have many other lenders to fallback on.
Cheers my friend!! That's worth a case of beer!!

Whoo Hoooo!
Nice job getting that limit restored @gingerflower! Yes, some lenders can be sensitive to lack of use. On the other hand, I have cards I rarely use that stay untouched, so it's lender and profile dependent. I always recommend that if the card and limit are important to you, it's best to use them on a regular basis. I have a few cards that I keep but if they were to CLD or close, it wouldn't really matter that much. I know some of our members make a point to put at least a small charge on all their cards monthly, or to take them out a few times a year at least.
But where in the world did they come up with a $1,024 limit?
Unless there was a balance on it? Strange limit!

$1,024 is the typical limit in the aftermath of a Synchrony CLD due to an extended period (like 12 months) of non-use.
It's not uncommon for some or all of the previous CL to be restored if you call customer service or put something on the order of $20 or so on the card.
