Massive Citi CLI 8K->30K

Is it bad that I'm wondering how much I left on the table? I suppose this is a great instance where I shouldn't poke the bear... But I want to poke it so badly.

The crazy thing is my EQ FICO 8 Bankcard score that shows up on my Citi account is in the 650's... very low. The CR data is identical minus one 4+ year old small collection not listed on TU. My TU score of the same flavor is 767.

I hope that stupid number doesn't cause me AA. I'm not a huge fan of how EQ is scoring me. They must be SUPER new acct/inq sensitive. 0 lates, total credit history goes back 9+ years, one paid collection 4+ y/o, currently 14% util soon to be 8%.

So... as an experiment, we applied my DW's Prestige card (17.5K limit) for a CLI, requesting the same 30K and she was just approved for the full amount!

They hit TU w/ a HP with all 3 CR's thawed. So that's good to know. They used TU for our apps as well, along with both of our AAdvantage apps.

Her stats:

- 729 TU FICO 8, 725 FICO 8 Bankcard

- 6 inq, now 7

- 12+ new accounts reporting

- One 30 day late from 3+ years ago, clean file otherwise

- 8% util currently reporting

Incredible! So if anybody with this card wants to extend their CL a bit... I'd say Citi is willing to oblige. I love this because now I can justify keeping these two high AF cards around with the limits and travel benefits all taken into consideration.

I was approved in November for the Prestige.  I've been trying to get the AAdvantage card but they refuse to run my credit due to too many apps apparently.  No idea.

I was approved for $10k.  I'll give it another month or two before asking for a CLI or apping again, but I'd really like to have the AAdvantage card so that I do not have to use my airline credit on my Prestige for checked bags.
