Re: Mercury Card Approval what's the SL?

Update: SL $1,500!

This evening I received another email from MCContact?? (Mercury) "Congratulations you're approved!" in the subject line with a note once again that I will receive my new Master Card within 7-10 days and they created an online account for me with instructions on how to log in. Went through the steps and once all the authenticating was done found my SL $1,500 so far my biggest yet!!

That's a decent limit. It'll give you a little breathing room. Well done!

Re: Mercury Card Approval what's the SL?

Congrats on the approval and your rebuild!

Not to be picky, but I see in your signature about a goal of "40% LTV Heloc 2021"...Most, if not all lenders, have pretty strict lending guidelines when it comes to HELOC's and consumers with a BK on their record (unfortunately, I know). I'm not saying it's impossible, but it's likely going to be accompanied by not-so-fair terms if granted prior to the 5-7 year post discharge mark. Again, not to rain on your parade, but I hope you have your ducks in a row and a lender or two lined up....especially if you're counting on those funds for a major remodel, etc.

Best of luck...and again just informational based on what I've seen/heard.

I actually appreciate this very much I have been looking pretty diligently but still have hope. It is for a remodel and am hoping to start on it next year but we will see DW is getting impatient. So far I have determined that Wells Fargo Helocs are ok 2yr's post BK, I need to work harder on building a relationship with them. I was hoping PenFed that I just joined would but looks like they are 4yrs according to the LO I spoke with yesterday. Planning on spending more time in the Mortgage section of these forums for some guidance, Thanks!

Re: Mercury Card Approval what's the SL?

After having this card now for a few weeks only activated it 5 days ago I received a Pre-Approval offer in the mail from them with a $2500 limit?? Called and spoke to a CSR and asked about it and could they just increase the limit of my current card? Her reply was that they only do CLI after a few months of activity and they are done automatically, but you could always get another card. She told me that I can have multiple accounts with them if I would like.  Now I am tempted to have them do another HP just for a bigger limit.

Re: Mercury Card Approval what's the SL?

Received a notice in my email today that I was granted a credit line increase to $1850. So that is an additional $350 or about a 23% increase. This was an automatic increase its been about 4 months from when I opened the card.  I did not request but for sure I'll take it, wish it was more. But since getting my Navy Credit Cards this one isn't seeing any use as of late. It has had a zero balance for over a month and prior to that about a 4% usage.

That data point on your Mercury Card is really beneficial for us who have one.

Mine is $2K which i was thankful to see right after BK7 DC. Maybe it helps to turn to other lenders we have to loosen them just a bit?

Had mine since July and nothing.

It has seen rotational usage and of course PIF. FICO numbers climbing every month as well.
