So I was recently discharged from Chapter 7 Bankruptcy on May 29th. It took about 3 weeks, but my credit report finally updated a few days ago. I logged into credit karma today and was pre-approved for the Merrick Bank Double Your Line Mastercard for $1,000 with NO Annual Fee. So I applied and was instantly approved.
This is my 2nd card since discharge. I was also recently approved for the Mission Lane Visa for $1,000 also with NO Annual Fee. However, this card only comes with a CLI after 7 months.
My Bankruptcy Lawyer told me to wait for offers from banks before applying. She also said once I have 3 cards, to let my credit repair itself for 12 months. I unfortunately had to declare Bankruptcy because of medical debt, so I burned almost every major bank. My goal is to wait for Capital One to let me back in (which I hope is soon).
Any advice or idea on how long Capital One takes to get back in their good graces?
Congrats on the Mission Lane approval!
Congratulations 👏 🎉!
Congrats
Congrats on the approvals. Capital one is a weird one. Some people burned them and got right back in while others had to wait about a year. The good thing is if you apply and are on their naughty list they won't pull your credit. Don't worry about the prequalify tool and just apply. Good luck!
Congratulations on both your approvals! Don't forget, if you do get approved for CapOne, it's a triple pull.
Congrats on the approvals!
Congratulations on your Approval 🥳
