The only thing I'm really worried about it's the down payment and closing cost , we don't have a lot of money saved bc we have been payIng old debts and collections for the last year just to repair credit so we haven't been able to save , we have been in this apartment for 2 years and it's aweful with two young kids we are just so sick of it

And what money we could have go to savings is going to pay down a few ccs this mth and next

I was in a similar situation. At the time I got pre-approved our daughter was 3 and we had a baby due in a few months. Lived in an apartment with a horrible landlord and just wanted to get out desperatly. I ended up putting the minimum down (3.5%) and rolling the closing costs into the mortgage to minimize the amount I had to shell out upfront.
